Honkai: Oh No, I’ve Become the Herrscher of Corruption?! - Chapter 100
“You—!”
Seeing that her words had actually calmed Bella instead, [Sirin] laughed in sheer frustration:
“Hahaha… How pathetic! A Herrscher-level Honkai beast, yet you see yourself as someone else’s possession…”
“Huh? P-pathetic? Isn’t it only natural that I belong to Her Majesty?”
“A life spent entirely for someone else—isn’t that tragic?”
“Not at all. Living for Her Majesty is my reason for existing. If my way of life is tragic, then what about those who wander aimlessly, with no purpose, no future—or worse, no future at all? Aren’t they even more pitiful?”
“If you always put yourself first in everything, isn’t that just… selfishness?”
Bella knew that even if [Sirin] couldn’t harm her, staying locked in this stalemate wasn’t an option.
“What if Her Majesty needs me? I have to find a way to defeat her… But… my lightning doesn’t work on her data form…”
“If I can’t fight, do I have to provoke her with words, like how she mimicked Her Majesty to anger me? But… I’ve never been good at thinking things through… What should I even say…?”
“Wait a minute—we’ve never met, and she couldn’t have read my memories without me noticing. So how did she know who I was from the start? And how could she take Her Majesty’s form?”
The moment her brain started working, Bella felt an itch in her head—as if she were about to grow a brain.
“Damn it… Her Majesty gave me the ability to think, yet when it matters most, I can’t come up with anything…”
Meanwhile, [Sirin] had also run out of tricks. Her weakened Erosion powers were useless, and Bella’s unshaken loyalty to the real Sirin had backfired, dealing emotional damage to herself instead. With no options left but unwilling to give up, the battlefield fell into an eerie silence.
Bella racked her brain, recalling every conversation she’d ever heard. After scratching off a few scales, she finally reached a conclusion and decided to strike first.
“Do you want to know what happened to Miss Enoxia in the main world?”
[Sirin] covered her ears, but her attention involuntarily fixed on Bella.
“She’s been living with me and Her Majesty, sharing the same bed with her from time to time, even admiring Her Majesty’s sleeping face together… while you can’t even handle me.”
[Sirin]’s breathing grew ragged. “Heh, so what? You think something so trivial would anger me? You and Sirin… will belong to me sooner or later—”
“Elysia personally acknowledged Miss Enoxia as her little sister. She once danced with Elysia, dressed in her finest, in the… the… Elysian Realm! And she proudly told me that if she wanted, she could throw tantrums and cling to Elysia all she wanted, with no limits…”
Bella struggled to recall the exact words, so she simply repeated what Enoxia had joyfully shared with her.
And just like Raven hearing about the villa island, [Sirin] began rolling on the ground, shrieking intermittently.
Seeing her tarnish Sirin’s image like this reignited Bella’s fury—though, to be fair, Sirin hadn’t left the best impression on others either.
“Miss Enoxia also said… Wait—”
Suddenly, Bella remembered something crucial. Back in the Elysian Realm, Sirin had once asked Enoxia whether Bella would instantly be stolen by the Herrscher of Erosion’s powers if they fought.
Enoxia’s response had been:
“It’s not that easy, Sirin. When you gave Bella that pseudo-Herrscher of Thunder Core, it was only because you thought her appearance matched the Thunder Herrscher’s aesthetic, right? If you’d modeled Benares after Aponia, you’d probably have given her a pseudo-Herrscher of Wind Core instead.”
Sirin had nodded. Her choice of the Thunder Core hadn’t been based on adaptability or strength—just aesthetics.
“But when it comes to resisting Erosion, out of Wind, Thunder, Void, and Death, the Thunder Herrscher is the strongest. Its electromagnetic barrier can block Erosion. In battles against other Herrschers, the Thunder Herrscher’s greatest advantage is its ability to sever the link between a Herrscher Core and the Imaginary Space using a specialized electromagnetic field. This cuts off all Herrscher abilities, even temporarily paralyzing them. Unless it’s the Herrscher of Binding, this should work on anyone…”
“A pseudo-Thunder Core won’t be as effective as the real thing, but it’d still give me trouble. Oh, and if Bella ever fights other pseudo-Herrschers, she can use this trick too.”
Snapping back to reality, Bella watched [Sirin] still rolling around like a lunatic. Suppressing her anger, she reviewed the battle.
“When she left my body earlier, she looked scared. But Miss Enoxia said the Herrscher of Erosion can back itself up in electronic devices—it’s practically unkillable as long as a backup exists. Yet I, a non-Herrscher, could hurt her… which means she’s not the real Herrscher of Erosion.”
Finally connecting the dots, Bella stopped the verbal assault. A net of lightning wrapped around [Sirin], binding her tightly.
“Useless! You can’t kill a hologram with lightning—huh?!”
To [Sirin]’s shock, she couldn’t break free.
“What did you do?!”
Lightning couldn’t destroy a hologram, but it could shut down the projector. [Sirin]’s form flickered, unable to digitize, her body dissolving into black mist.
Seeing her true form exposed, Bella felt a surge of satisfaction. With a clench of her left hand, [Sirin] was crushed like trash in a net and dropped to the ground.
“Wait—”
Now that combat solved the problem, Bella ignored her protests. Lightning coiled around her hands as she drove a Thunderclap Strike into [Sirin]’s body. The electromagnetic field severed her connection to [that place], causing her form to shrink rapidly.
“Ah… Bella shot something from her body into mine… made me dirty… Such a naughty Bella… I don’t hate it, though~”
The black mist thinned until it shrank into an invisible speck, drilling into Bella’s mind—leaving behind a set of coordinates.
“Enoxia is there… and your Sirin… might already be there too.”
With those final words, the voice vanished. The world, at last, fell silent.
Though it had taken far longer than necessary for a battle she was destined to win, Bella was thrilled. For the first time, she’d outsmarted an enemy without Sirin’s guidance. She’d never felt so clever in her life.
As for the coordinates [Sirin] had left behind—since they concerned Her Majesty, Bella had no choice but to trust them. After a brief rest, she spread her wings and soared into the distance.
