With My Ability To Swap, I Will Never End Up In A Love Triangle Mess - Chapter 119
The reality of Xia Xi’s situation was completely different from what Xia Yue imagined.
Forget about enjoying the body of a beautiful girl; just An Xiaoyu’s long-term irregular sleep schedule and poor, inadequate diet had left this body so weak he could barely stand it.
Xia Xi was absolutely certain that if he dared to do anything excessive with this body—like even a quick, casual solo session—he would pass out on the spot from sheer exhaustion.
….
“Ahem… Officer Uncles, what exactly have I done wrong…?”
Xia Xi sat in the back of the police car, watching the backs of the two uniformed officers with nervous anxiety.
Early this morning, he had been woken up by a knock at the door.
When he opened it, he was greeted by two stern-faced officers. It had scared him half to death.
After all, given An Xiaoyu’s programming skills, she might very well be a hidden little hacker or something similar. Maybe she had been caught, and he had swapped in just in time to take the fall.
“Don’t be nervous. It’s just that someone wants to see you. They’re hoping you can act as their guarantor.”
Someone wants to see me?
Xia Xi was stunned for a moment before it clicked.
Who else could it be, wanting to see him from detention right after he swapped over, but An Hu, the guy he had screwed over?
“We’re here. Get out. If you feel threatened at any point later, just blink hard at us.”
Clearly, the two officers didn’t think much of An Hu, a gambling participant whose hands and feet were reversed, being a good person.
So, even though An Xiaoyu was legally an adult and could act as a guarantor for someone, the officers still felt the need to warn this seemingly inexperienced young girl.
“Mhmm, thank you, Uncles,” Xia Xi replied with respectful politeness.
What else could he do? He was on their turf. If his attitude was bad, what if they decided to drag him into an interrogation room for questioning?
Arriving at the visiting room, Xia Xi sat obediently on the stool, with her hands on her thighs near her knees, looking like a little girl who was at a loss as to what to do.
Seeing this, the officers became even more convinced that An Xiaoyu should not be this person’s guarantor.
Before long, An Hu, shackled at the hands and feet and wearing a prisoner’s uniform, was escorted by officers to the other side of the glass partition.
However, Xia Xi noticed something peculiar. Several elderly men in white lab coats and wearing glasses, who looked quite scholarly, were following behind the escorted An Hu. They occasionally pointed at him and seemed to be discussing something.
“You have twenty minutes.”
“Alright, alright, I got it!”
An Hu impatiently picked up the intercom handset.
“An Xiaoyu! What the hell did you do to me?!”
Ever since leaving An Xiaoyu’s place, things had felt off. I mean, who suddenly can’t hold a lighter properly and gets pointed at by passersby calling them a monster?
And those so-called “brothers” of his? Hah! A bunch of traitors. Just wait until he got out of jail; he’d make them pay!
“Ah… I… I don’t know what you’re talking about…”
Xia Xi glanced at the men who looked like experts, then sneakily peeked at the officers waiting not far away, putting on a thoroughly frightened act.
“Playing dumb, you little brat! After I left your place, everyone started seeing me as a monster with my hands and feet swapped! You dare say it wasn’t your doing?!”
An Hu’s voice was loud, causing everyone to frown.
Seeing the “young girl” he was talking to trembling all over, looking like she was about to burst into tears, only made them angrier.
Hah, since when could a detainee be this arrogant?
“Behave! Watch your tone and attitude!” The officer escorting him kicked the leg of An Hu’s stool.
“Tch.” An Hu was furious.
He’d been a tough guy his whole life, and this was the first time he’d ever been caught.
“I… I really don’t know!”
Xia Xi lowered his head, as if afraid to meet An Hu’s gaze. At the same time, his small body kept trembling, seemingly terrified.
The truth, however, was that Xia Xi lowered his head to hide the smirk on his face, and the trembling was from him trying desperately not to laugh.
He couldn’t help it. An Hu’s current appearance was just too ridiculous.
Those giant feet, substituting for his hands, were holding the intercom handset, and he kept bringing his mouth close to it, almost like he was kissing the soles of his own feet. It was both disgusting and hilarious.
“Damn bitch! You’re just like your mother, pretending to be all innocent!”
An Hu gritted his teeth, his eyes wide with rage.
“Whatever. Hurry up and sign the bail papers. We’ll have a proper talk after I get out.”
When Xia Xi heard this, he was inwardly delighted.
With so many officers right here, how dare you talk like that, An Hu?
He raised a hand to rub his eyes, pretending to wipe away tears and making them red in the process.
“I… I understand… Can you promise not to hit me after you get out…?”
As he spoke, he deliberately blinked a few times at the officers nearby.
He played the part of a bullied, pitiful young girl to perfection.
“Sorry to interrupt, but I need to confirm something.” An officer walked over to Xia Xi and gently patted his head.
“Little sister, has An Hu frequently subjected you to domestic violence?”
The officer’s voice came through the intercom, reaching An Hu’s ears.
His pupils dilated even more, glaring at Xia Xi as if he wanted to devour him whole, a clear threat of “If you dare say anything, I’ll beat you to death!”
Xia Xi shuddered visibly. He glanced sideways at An Hu, then timidly shook his head.
The officer naturally noticed his furtive glance at An Hu and immediately frowned.
“Don’t be afraid. We’re here. He can’t do anything to you. Just tell the truth. Does he often abuse you?”
Reassured, the pitiful-looking girl in front of him hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded.
All of this was recorded by another officer as evidence, meaning another charge was added to An Hu’s list.
“Alright. Given that the prisoner An Hu demonstrates clear motive for threats, forget about the bail paperwork. Focus on reforming yourself properly here.”
When An Hu heard this, he instantly panicked.
“On what grounds?! You’re judging me for domestic violence based solely on that little brat’s one-sided story?! I don’t accept this!”
Just at that moment, the loose-fitting top Xia Xi was wearing accidentally slipped down part of his left shoulder, revealing a smooth, fair shoulder and… a small part of his back that still bore the marks of old scars.
By pure coincidence, it was seen and noted by the officers.
“Hmph, you’d better wise up!”
Seeing this, the officer had nothing more to say. He just gave An Hu a cold look, then crouched down in front of Xia Xi.
“Don’t be scared anymore, little sister. Here, Uncle will give you a candy.”
As he spoke, he took out a lollipop, pressed it into Xia Xi’s hand, and gave him a gentle smile.
“Mhmm, thank you, Uncle.”
Xia Xi was secretly thrilled.
This was the advantage of being a young girl! He was an old hand at gaining sympathy!
Seeing that the conversation here was wrapping up, the men in white lab coats approached.
Ahem, we believe the supervision and control capabilities of our research institute are very well-suited for detaining this kind of stubborn, unrepentant offender!”
