The Almighty Martial Arts System - Chapter 308
Jiang Fei had no idea what Du Ziliang was up to, voluntarily going to the Cui residence. Was this scoundrel planning to repeat his last performance—cause trouble, then shamelessly show up pretending to be friendly?
Jiang Fei sneered inwardly. Last time, this guy had done something as despicable as trying to steal his girlfriend. While morally bankrupt, it wasn’t technically illegal, so Jiang Fei couldn’t really touch him.
But this time, no matter what magic potion Du Ziliang was brewing, it was useless. He was absolutely going down! This time, his crimes went beyond framing the TCM Association; he was a member of the ‘Tianwang’ assassin organization, essentially committing treason.
Even if Jiang Fei were willing to let him go, Ye Yuanyuan wouldn’t!
They soon arrived at the Cui residence.
But the scene there surprised Jiang Fei. The Cui household was unusually bustling for the middle of the night. The main gate was brightly lit, and parked outside, besides the three Mercedes-Benz sedans, were several other cars. While the cars themselves weren’t excessively expensive, their license plates would make a great many people in this city of hidden dragons and crouching tigers pale with recognition.
Each plate represented a heavyweight figure.
Ye Yuanyuan, more familiar with these plates than Jiang Fei, frowned at the sight. “Something’s unusual about tonight’s situation.”
Jiang Fei was also puzzled. “These important people were probably invited by Du Ziliang, right? What is he trying to do? We haven’t even confronted him yet, and he’s launching a counterattack?”
“Let’s just say the owners of these license plates are not people to be trifled with. If they get involved, it could be quite troublesome,” Ye Yuanyuan said, her brow furrowed.
“How troublesome can it be? I don’t believe anyone can protect Du Ziliang now that he’s joined the ‘Tianwang’ organization and become an assassin! Let’s go in and see what’s happening.”
Guided by a guard who had been waiting for them, Jiang Fei and Ye Yuanyuan quickly entered the Cui mansion and stepped into the main hall.
The moment they entered—
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Many pairs of eyes instantly shot towards the doorway. Seeing that Jiang Fei wasn’t alone but accompanied by a short-haired, capable-looking Ye Yuanyuan, they were momentarily startled, but soon all gazes converged on Jiang Fei.
If two men had entered, those who didn’t know Jiang Fei might have needed an introduction. But with a woman accompanying him—even if Ye Yuanyuan wasn’t particularly busty, it was clear those weren’t a man’s pectorals—it was obvious who Jiang Fei was.
This ‘welcoming committee’ took Jiang Fei aback. Aside from the Cui family members, the others looked at him with either deep malice and hatred, or calm detachment, waiting to see the show unfold, but clearly intent on dealing with him.
“So, you’ve finally arrived! With your shifty, rat-like appearance, it’s no wonder the TCM Association has fallen to such a pitiful state under your leadership!”
A voice, old but full of authority, rang out with a cold snort, dripping with anger.
Jiang Fei looked up and saw an elderly man with a full head of white hair, dressed impeccably. This old man was sitting boldly and openly in the central position of the main hall, on equal footing with Old Master Cui.
And standing right beside him was the very person Jiang Fei and Ye Yuanyuan had come to capture tonight—Du Ziliang!
A quick mental calculation allowed Jiang Fei to roughly guess the old man’s identity.
Someone who could sit as an equal to Old Master Cui, with Du Ziliang, the Du family heir, standing quietly beside him, and who carried himself with such arrogance… it was likely none other than the Old Master of the Du family, who, alongside Old Master Cui, was revered as a ‘Pillar of TCM.’ Probably no one else.
But so what if he was the Du family’s Old Master?
Hearing the old man immediately slander him as ‘shifty’ and ‘rat-like’ without any inquiry pissed Jiang Fei off immensely, leading him to mentally label the man as an ‘old fossil.’
No matter how arrogant or senior this old fossil was, others might fear him, but Jiang Fei had no need to. He was the officially recognized president of the TCM Association. What could an old man from a TCM family do to him?
In terms of status, Jiang Fei outranked him. In terms of medical skill, Jiang Fei felt he could surpass this old fossil a hundred times over! If the old man wanted to act arrogantly in front of him, Jiang Fei would make him cry to a very specific rhythm!
Seeing Du Ziliang here and unlikely to escape, Jiang Fei wasn’t in a hurry to arrest him just yet. Instead, he asked, “And who might this be?”
Cui Xiuping, looking as if facing a formidable enemy and quite anxious, hurried over and introduced, “This is the Old Master of the Du family. He, alongside my grandfather, is revered as a Pillar of TCM. He is an Honorary President of our TCM Association…”
Before Cui Xiuping could finish, Jiang Fei quickly waved his hand and shook his head. “An Honorary President of our TCM Association? I only know Old Master Cui is our Honorary President. Does anyone else even have that qualification? We mustn’t say such things carelessly; it would make our TCM Association seem lacking in standards.”
Cui Xiuping’s lips twitched. He understood Jiang Fei’s meaning perfectly. He knew Jiang Fei well by now—this proud and unconventional President was definitely retaliating for Old Master Du’s earlier remarks, intentionally trying to provoke him!
But, oh, my President, don’t you see the situation we’re in? How can you still find the leisure to bicker? The situation is extremely serious!
Sure enough, upon hearing Jiang Fei’s words, the old fossil’s already furious expression intensified further, his eyes nearly spitting fire.
“Old Master Du was an Honorary President of our TCM Association over a decade ago…” Cui Xiuping explained.
Jiang Fei nodded as if a light bulb had gone off. “Oh, an Honorary President from over a decade ago. I think I’ve heard of someone like that. However…”
Here, Jiang Fei deliberately paused, giving Old Master Du a strange look before continuing, “…I heard this former Honorary President coveted the actual President’s position and even tried to abuse his power for personal gain. After being exposed, he flew into a shame-filled rage, abruptly withdrew from the TCM Association, and even swore a solemn oath in front of many witnesses, vowing never to set foot in the TCM Association again, nor take a single step into Beijing for the rest of his life. So… what’s the situation now? Do oaths have an expiration date? Has it passed, so he’s shamelessly come crawling back?”
Shamelessly come crawling back?
This…
This was a direct slap in the face, loud and stinging, showing absolutely no respect for Old Master Du. He was blatantly bringing up the old man’s broken vow.
Not even Old Master Cui would dare say something like that!
“You impudent brat! Impudent brat!…” Old Master Du was so enraged by Jiang Fei’s words that he stood up, his obviously high-quality cane pounding thunderously on the floor.
You killed my grandson and still dare act so arrogantly?
I won’t rest until I skin you alive and tear out your tendons!
Jiang Fei sneered inwardly. If you were a virtuous and respected senior, I would naturally respect you. But not only are your medical ethics lacking, you’ve also raised a traitorous running dog like Du Ziliang. Now you come to the capital to pressure me? I certainly won’t be polite!
You think this big display of force intimidates me?
“You bastard! Do you think becoming the TCM Association President gives you the right to be so insolent and look down on everyone? You killed my son, and now you dare insult my father like this? Forget you—even the entire TCM Association will be wiped out this time!” Du Chengde could no longer hold back. He slammed his hands on the armrests of his chair and shot to his feet in rage.
“Killed your son?” Jiang Fei was taken aback, then laughed openly. “I want to kill your son, and he absolutely deserves to die. No matter how many people you bring, it won’t change the outcome or save him.”
As he spoke, Jiang Fei’s gaze shifted to Du Ziliang.
This scheming bitch also wore an expression of anger, his eyes filled with grief. Jiang Fei smiled faintly without speaking. This guy probably doesn’t know yet that we’ve rescued Min Dong’s wife and daughter and captured his subordinate, does he? Otherwise, he wouldn’t be acting so calmly, putting on this Oscar-worthy performance.
Gasp!
A wave of astonishment swept through the hall. Everyone looked at Jiang Fei with incredulous eyes.
Did this mean Jiang Fei was openly admitting to being the murderer, without even attempting to deny it?
Even Old Master Cui’s expression changed drastically upon hearing Jiang Fei’s words, a look of anxiety crossing his face.
“Good! Good!!” Du Chengde pointed a trembling finger at Jiang Fei, his face contorted with rage, his eyes bloodshot. “So it was you who killed my son! Today, not even the Jade Emperor himself can save you! You will pay with your life for my son!”
Jiang Fei and Ye Yuanyuan exchanged glances, thinking, What in the world is going on?
Cui Xiuping was almost stomping his feet in anxiety. He whispered urgently, “How could you admit to this! Even if you did it… you can’t just admit it like that! The Du family might have been retired all these years, but their influence is still significant. Look at all the people the old man has gathered here in the middle of the night just to cause trouble for you! If his son really framed our TCM Association, he got what he deserved. But if you killed him directly, you’re in the wrong, and you’ll be in serious trouble!”
Jiang Fei had heard enough.
He also began to sense that something was amiss, that there seemed to be a misunderstanding or mix-up. Frowning, he quickly said, “What are you all talking about? It’s true I want to kill Du Ziliang, but isn’t he standing right there, alive and well? When did he die?”
If Du Ziliang were dead, then who was that standing next to the old fossil? A ghost?
Cui Xiuping said anxiously, “We’re not talking about Du Ziliang! We’re talking about Du Zikang!”
“Du Zikang? That playboy?” Jiang Fei’s frown deepened. Of course he remembered that name—the Aston Martin guy who pursued his girlfriend, Bai Ruoxi, the one he kicked flying.
Suddenly, understanding dawned on Jiang Fei. His eyes sharpened as he stared at Cui Xiuping. “Are you saying… that Du Zikang is dead?”
You finally get it! Cui Xiuping thought frantically.
He nodded repeatedly. “Yes! Du Zikang is dead, completely and utterly. They’re all saying you killed him.”
Jiang Fei scanned the room, his eyes taking in the furious expressions on Du Chengde’s and Old Master Du’s faces.
Now he understood why this group had come with such imposing force, treating him like a mortal enemy. They were here for revenge because that playboy Du Zikang was dead.
But how did that playboy die so suddenly? Something seemed fishy.
“Just because they say I killed him means I did? Where’s the evidence? What reason would I have to kill Du Zikang?” Jiang Fei said loudly with a cold laugh, addressing everyone present.
Cui Xiuping explained, “They claim you believe Du Zikang was the mastermind behind the TCM Association’s medical accident, that he framed the Association. So, in a fit of rage, combined with your past grudge, you took your revenge and killed him. As for evidence, they seem to have some kind of dying statement or something from Du Zikang…”
At this point, Jiang Fei couldn’t laugh anymore.
He could feel that he had fallen into a trap, framed by someone’s scheme.
Du Zikang was the culprit behind the medical accident? Jiang Fei narrowed his eyes, his gaze sharp and piercing as it landed on Du Ziliang, the scheming bitch.
He hardly needed to guess to know this was Du Ziliang’s doing. He was the real mastermind, and only he would shift the blame like this.
But did this guy actually kill his own brother just to save himself? That was truly ruthless and vicious!
Jiang Fei sneered inwardly. His estimation of this scheming bitch rose a few notches. He hadn’t expected him to go this far, to be so merciless!
If Du Zikang was truly dead, and Min Dong didn’t know exactly which Du family member was the mastermind, then even if Min Dong came forward, he could only clear the TCM Association’s name. Du Ziliang could indeed slip away scot-free.
Unfortunately for him, he didn’t know that Jiang Fei had rescued Min Dong’s wife and daughter and captured two of his subordinates!
Min Dong could now step forward and clear the TCM Association’s name.
And those two captured Tianwang assassins were enough to seal Du Ziliang’s fate!
Man proposes, God disposes. Even after killing his own brother, this guy wouldn’t escape.
Jiang Fei was about to step forward and say something when—
Suddenly, Ye Yuanyuan’s phone rang.
She answered it, and after a moment, her expression changed. She said to Jiang Fei in a low, grave voice, “The two Tianwang assassins we captured alive… they’re dead.”
“Dead?” Jiang Fei’s eyes widened in anger. “How?!”
“It seems… they had biological bombs implanted in their bodies long ago. Someone wanted them dead. As long as someone gets close and presses the detonator within a certain range, their internal organs are completely destroyed…”
