The Almighty Martial Arts System - Chapter 258
Jiang Fei channeled the Beiming True Qi from his dantian and activated the Triple Cloud lightness skill, minimizing his downward force as he leaped over a meter into the air. In an instant, his right hand seized one of the eagle’s talons.
His heart swirled with anticipation and unease. Though this eagle was larger than an ordinary raptor, it still wasn’t massive enough to inspire full confidence. He doubted it could carry a person like Guo Jing’s legendary white eagle from The Legend of the Condor Heroes.
“Screech!”
Caught off guard, the eagle let out a sharp cry, its hovering form dipping slightly.
Disappointed, Jiang Fei prepared to release his grip and land. The eagle had consumed an evolution serum for summoned beasts, but perhaps the time hadn’t been enough—it still fell far short of the mythical raptors from novels, unable to bear an adult’s weight.
Yet just then, the eagle’s powerful wings beat fiercely against the air. Jiang Fei felt as though a giant fan whirred above him, the gusting wind stinging his face.
Then, something miraculous happened.
With a wingspan stretching two meters, the eagle halted its descent. Its wings flapped relentlessly, lifting Jiang Fei higher and higher!
“It can really carry me?” Jiang Fei was astounded. He steadied his breathing, willing his body to grow lighter.
The eagle ascended in spirals—first a meter off the ground, then above the treetops, until the entire rice village sprawled beneath them: the crimson grasslands, winding streams, ponds, vegetable patches, and orchards.
Screech!
Guided by Jiang Fei, the eagle soared toward the distant forest. Fortunately, it was late, and his villa stood apart from the village’s clustered homes. No one witnessed this spectacle—otherwise, jaws would’ve dropped in disbelief.
This was nothing short of a marvel. If word got out, it would cause a sensation. Even the mighty Andean condor, the world’s largest flying bird, couldn’t carry a full-grown adult.
Whoosh—
Wind roared against him, filling his clothes as the eagle sped away from the villa, darting toward the mountain gorge.
Gripping the eagle’s talon, Jiang Fei’s amazement peaked. This surpassed any airplane ride or paragliding—it was a once-in-a-lifetime wonder!
Riding a bird into the sky? Outside of fiction, he might’ve been the first human to achieve it. If the eagle evolved further, growing even stronger, he could someday stand on its back mid-flight. What a sight that would be!
The village’s beauty unfolded below. Jiang Fei sighed, “Without this eagle, no matter how profound my lightness skill or inner energy, I’d never soar like this.”
Even in wuxia tales, where masters defied limits, none truly broke free from gravity—unless they reached the realm of shattering the void, transcending martial arts into cultivation.
Within minutes, the eagle carried him across the valley, faster than any car.
When Jiang Fei finally landed stealthily outside the villa, the eagle perched exhaustedly on a branch, wings drooping. Though capable of flight, carrying him was clearly draining.
Satisfied but cautious, Jiang Fei decided to keep this feat secret. The implications were too vast—government agencies might confiscate the eagle. Plus, his lightness skill and inner energy were crucial; even a petite girl would struggle to replicate this.
Meanwhile, Xia Xiaozhi and her two friends chattered excitedly, picking bedrooms.
With five rooms total—Jiang Fei’s master suite and Lin Moli’s reserved space excluded—only three remained. Since another couple would arrive tomorrow, the trio opted to share one large guest room.
Their bond was tight; squeezing into one bed wasn’t new. Unlike men, women could share beds without discomfort.
By the time they finished settling in, Jiang Fei had prepared dinner. The aroma lured them to the kitchen, where they hovered like eager kittens.
An hour later…
“Ugh, I’m stuffed!”
“Finally ate Uncle’s cooking again. No drooling in my sleep tonight!”
“Overeating makes you fat… but how could we resist? Uncle, you’re responsible for our figures now!”
Leaning back in their chairs, the girls marveled at the meal. They’d devoured every dish.
After cleaning up, they showered. Women, big or small, loved feeling fresh—and today’s travels had left them dusty.
Thirty minutes later, as Jiang Fei lounged on the sofa (secretly texting flirtatiously with Bai Ruoxi), giggles announced Xia Xiaozhi and Xu Jing’s return.
Their hair damp, they wore pajamas—Xia Xiaozhi in a striped tee and shorts, her legs subtly alluring; Xu Jing in a snug Pikachu-print nightdress, her ample chest stretching the fabric.
“Where’s Tan Yuan?” Jiang Fei asked, averting his gaze.
“She said she’s sleepy,” Xia Xiaozhi replied, plopping beside him.
In truth, Tan Yuan was too shy to appear in pajamas—unlike these two, who seemed eager to tease Jiang Fei.
Xu Jing hesitated, then demurely sat on his right.
Xia Xiaozhi’s eyes narrowed. “That sly, busty minx!” She promptly claimed his left side.
Now sandwiched between two fragrant, freshly showered girls, Jiang Fei tensed. Their innocent sleepwear—covering everything yet hinting at youthful curves—was dangerously distracting.
“Uncle, what’s the plan tomorrow? Hunting with Simba and the eagle?” Xia Xiaozhi breathed, her warmth seeping into him.
“My classmates are coming for wedding photos. Hunting will have to wait,” Jiang Fei said stiffly, discreetly adjusting his posture.
“So… it’s just us tonight? Sis Lin isn’t coming back?” Xu Jing’s eyes sparkled, her chest lightly brushing his arm.
“She’s busy. Probably won’t return for days.”
The girls cheered, high-fiving over him. With their “rival” absent, victory felt sweet.
Jiang Fei’s eyebrow twitched. Why so happy?
Are they planning to sneak into my room tonight?
“What do I do? They’re under eighteen! If they try anything… should I resist?” he agonized inwardly.
