Super Doctor - Chapter 121
“Zhang Junhai…” Xu Ze narrowed his eyes and let out a quiet breath, thinking to himself how lucky he was. He had just driven the Zhang family’s youngest son to madness, and now here he was, running into the older brother. It seemed fate really had it out for him when it came to the Zhangs.
But as he took in Zhang Junhai’s arrogant demeanor, Xu Ze couldn’t help but sneer. Neither of the Zhang brothers was any good—one was practically a rapist and thief, while the other was a reckless bully who drunk-drove, hurt people, and picked on the weak. The Zhang family’s parenting was truly something else.
Watching the four men closing in on him with cold expressions and vicious glints in their eyes, Xu Ze let out a quiet scoff. Ever since he’d started training in combat with Bond, he hadn’t had many chances to test his skills. Today seemed like a good opportunity—he just hoped these four would be enough to give him a decent workout.
Just then, a tall, skinny guy—probably Liangzi—suddenly threw a punch at Xu Ze from the left, prompting a sharp scream from Tao Yiyi behind him.
Sensing the rush of air from the side, Xu Ze sighed inwardly. Too slow. Too weak.
With a slight tilt of his head, he dodged the strike, then swiftly reached out with his right hand, seizing Liangzi’s wrist. A quick twist, a sharp pull, and with a pained grunt from Liangzi, Xu Ze hooked his foot around the man’s ankle and sent him flying face-first into the ground with a loud crash.
Tao Yiyi, watching from behind, gasped and covered her mouth in shock. She never would’ve guessed that Xu Ze, who always seemed so gentle and refined, could fight like this.
Seeing Liangzi go down so easily, the other two exchanged a glance, then charged at Xu Ze in unison. These two were clearly used to fighting in groups—they moved in perfect sync, one attacking from the left, the other from the right.
Xu Ze’s lips curled into a faint smirk. They had the aggression, but their strength was laughable. If this was all they had, they stood no chance against him.
With lightning-fast movements, he intercepted their wrists mid-punch, twisted sharply, and sent both men howling in pain. A quick shake of his arms sent them stumbling back, collapsing to the ground with agonized cries.
Zhang Junhai, who had been about to join the fight, froze in shock as his three companions were effortlessly taken down.
But Zhang Junhai wasn’t one to back down easily. He turned and bolted toward his car, yanked open the door, and pulled out a baseball bat before charging back.
Xu Ze chuckled when he saw the weapon. Unless they had guns, even two or three more of these guys wouldn’t stand a chance.
Zhang Junhai swung the bat with practiced ease, the wood whistling through the air as he aimed for Xu Ze’s head.
With Tao Yiyi watching in terror, Xu Ze smoothly sidestepped, dodging the attack with effortless grace.
Frustrated by Xu Ze’s agility, Zhang Junhai roared and swung harder, faster—but Xu Ze remained untouchable.
With a cold snort, Xu Ze waited for an opening, then stepped in close. His right hand shot out like a blade, striking Zhang Junhai’s wrist with precision. The bat clattered to the ground as Zhang Junhai yelped in pain.
Xu Ze followed up with a sharp kick to the chest, sending Zhang Junhai flying back two meters, where he crumpled to the ground, clutching his ribs and groaning.
The girls who had been eagerly watching from the sidelines, expecting Xu Ze to be beaten to a pulp, now shrieked in horror. They had assumed this pretty-faced guy would be an easy target—but now all four of their friends were sprawled on the ground, utterly humiliated.
Xu Ze smirked. He had held back—after all, Zhang Junhai was the last remaining son of the Zhang family. If he crippled him too, Zhang Yi would stop at nothing to destroy him.
Xu Ze wasn’t afraid, but if the Zhangs were backed into a corner, they might lash out like rabid dogs. If they targeted his family, that would be a real problem.
So he had settled for teaching them a lesson. Otherwise, he would’ve gladly broken a few of their ribs.
The other three scrambled over to help Zhang Junhai up, their faces pale with fear. They had finally realized—Xu Ze wasn’t someone to mess with. He had taken them all down in seconds.
Xu Ze glared at them, his voice icy. “Get lost.”
The sheer force of his presence sent a chill down their spines. Terrified he might come after them again, they hastily spat out a weak threat—“Xu Ze, just you wait!”—before dragging Zhang Junhai away. The girls quickly scurried after them.
The crowd that had gathered burst into cheers. These troublemakers had never been challenged before—seeing them get their comeuppance was deeply satisfying.
Tao Yiyi let out a relieved sigh, but her gaze toward Xu Ze had changed. There was something new in her eyes—admiration, curiosity, maybe even something more.
As the group sped off in their car, Xu Ze scoffed, then turned back to the old woman. Seeing the gratitude in her eyes, he smiled gently. “Don’t worry, Granny. You’ll be fine. Let me treat your injury—it won’t take long.”
The old woman hesitantly extended her swollen ankle. Xu Ze examined it, then took out three silver needles, inserting them into the Yongquan, Qiuxu, and Chongyang acupoints. With a flick of his fingers, the needles began to vibrate subtly.
The onlookers watched in fascination. They had heard rumors about Xu Ze’s incredible acupuncture skills, but seeing it in person was something else entirely.
Within minutes, the dark bruising began to fade. By the time the needles stopped, the swelling had completely disappeared—all in under four minutes.
Everyone’s eyes widened in disbelief. How was this possible?
Tao Yiyi stared, her pretty eyes round with shock. She had heard the stories about Xu Ze’s medical skills, but she had never fully believed them—until now.
Xu Ze gently rotated the old woman’s ankle, testing the movement. “There. All better. Just be careful from now on, okay?”
The old woman, now able to move without pain, trembled as she stood with the little girl’s help. Tears streamed down her face as she stammered out thanks, even trying to kneel in gratitude.
Xu Ze quickly stopped her, smiling warmly. “No need for that. Just take care of yourself.”
With a nod to Tao Yiyi, he turned and walked back to his car.
As he drove away, the old woman wiped her tears, murmuring, “Such a good young man… a truly good soul…”
The little girl, still watching, suddenly called out in her high, clear voice, “Thank you, big brother!”
Xu Ze glanced back, smiled at her, then drove off. He was already running late—he didn’t want to keep the old master waiting for dinner.
The crowd watched his car disappear, murmuring in awe. Wealthy people were all different… but this one was something else.
Tao Yiyi gazed at Xu Ze with admiration. “You’re amazing. Not just your fighting, but your acupuncture too. I never knew you were this incredible.”
Xu Ze chuckled lightly, his expression humble. “Just hobbies. Sometimes they come in handy.”
“Hobbies? And you’re this good at them?” Tao Yiyi laughed softly. She had never realized just how modest Xu Ze was.
As the car entered Tianyang Mountain’s winding roads, Xu Ze glanced at her. “Where do you live, Yiyi?”
“No. 6, Qinglin Road.”
Xu Ze nodded—he knew the area. A few minutes later, he pulled up in front of a modest but elegant villa.
“This is your place?”
“Yep!” She grinned, then tilted her head. “Want to come in?”
Xu Ze shook his head with a smile. “Not today. My grandfather’s probably waiting for me. Next time.”
“Alright!” She waved as she stepped out. “I’ll wait here when you come back down.”
“Sounds good.” With a final nod, he drove off.
By the time he reached the mountaintop villa, the sky had darkened. Parking in the courtyard, he headed inside.
The old master was watching the news in the living room. Seeing Xu Ze, he smiled. “Ah, you’re here. Let’s eat.”
At the dinner table, the old man chewed thoughtfully on a bite of greens before speaking. “I heard you lost your job?”
Xu Ze nodded. “Yeah. Got fired.”
“Hmph. No matter. How about interning at Xingda Affiliated Hospital this summer? It’s under the ministry’s jurisdiction—the city can’t touch it.” The old man studied him. “You’ll see more patients there. With your skills, it shouldn’t be a problem. What do you say?”
After a brief pause, Xu Ze agreed. “Sure.”
The old master smiled. “Zhang Yi’s being petty. Pay him no mind.”
“I won’t.” Xu Ze grinned. “Though… I did just beat up his eldest son.”
