Super Doctor - Chapter 101
As the faint, lingering voice echoed through the courtroom, accompanied by the piercing, maniacal laughter of that guy named Xu Ze, the Zhang family and the judge grew visibly furious, their hearts swelling with confusion…
“Did this kid orchestrate all of this? How dare he act so recklessly? How does he even have the ability to do this? Does he have any idea where he is? How can he be so brazen here?”
“Hahaha…” Watching the expressions of those who had always considered themselves superior—yet were utterly corrupt—shift rapidly from shock to rage, Xu Ze couldn’t help but find it all bitterly ironic. His bloodshot eyes widened as he laughed wildly, the intense strain of his overwhelming mental exertion causing tiny blood vessels in his eyes to rupture. Small droplets of blood trickled from the corners of his eyes, leaving stark crimson trails down his pale, jade-like cheeks…
The sight sent chills down the spines of the furious, hate-filled onlookers. What was this kid trying to do? Why was he acting so crazily? What was his goal? Did he just want to scare them and vent his anger?
Under the crowd’s hostile, questioning gazes, Xu Ze gradually reined in his manic laughter. His reddened eyes fixed on them, a mocking smile curled at his lips as he said softly, “Are you scared now? Are you ashamed and angry? To be so terrified by a weak little girl—do you feel your dignity has been challenged? Your noble faces trampled upon?”
“Tao Xiao… she left unwillingly. She left with deep resentment. She said there was no justice in this world… She didn’t want to go, but she had no choice…”
“She was right. There is no justice in this world.”
“But were her words lies? Was her humiliation fake? Were those recordings of her fabricated?” Xu Ze shook his head with a sorrowful laugh, looking at them with disdain as he murmured, “Deep down, we all know the truth…”
“She refused to endure such abuse any longer, so she chose this path—to prove her innocence with death, even swearing to the heavens that she would return as a vengeful spirit to settle this grudge… I think she succeeded…”
As Xu Ze spoke, the faces of those listening flickered between shades of green and red. The judge, in particular, turned pale one moment and flushed the next before finally bellowing in rage, “Bailiffs! Arrest this troublemaker!”
Just as two bailiffs moved to surround Xu Ze, a shrill, terrified scream erupted from the defendant’s dock: “No! No! Don’t come after me! It was all Zhang Juntao’s idea—it was all him! Go after him, not me! Please!”
The crowd turned in shock to see Li Benlong, his face deathly pale, cowering under the table like a frightened dog before scrambling out and pointing at Zhang Juntao, shrieking accusations.
Meanwhile, Zhang Juntao, under Li Benlong’s finger, suddenly wore an expression of sheer terror. He frantically recoiled, pointing at Li Jiangming beside him and wailing, “Tao Xiao! It was him! He said once we filmed you, you wouldn’t dare report us! It was all him! I didn’t force you to die! Go after him, not me! I’ll give the tapes back—just go after him! Aahh—!”
“It wasn’t me! It wasn’t me! It was Zhang Juntao! Him!”
Amid the horrified stares of the crowd, the three of them—faces twisted in terror—descended into a chaotic tangle of mutual accusations, each desperately shifting blame as if Tao Xiao were right beside them, haunting and tormenting them.
The terrifying, almost theatrical scene triggered screams from some and wild laughter from others. Camera flashes burst rapidly from the back rows.
The three men, consumed by panic, fled in every direction, hiding behind their families, only to continue screaming and thrashing as if unable to escape their invisible pursuer.
Tao Xiao’s parents, witnessing this spectacle—the three now seemingly driven to madness—collapsed to the floor, their faces alight with exhilaration and relief. Slapping the ground, they laughed hysterically. “Retribution! This is retribution! Hahaha!”
Reporters at the back, equally thrilled and stunned, raised their cameras, their flashes firing nonstop to capture the bizarre yet electrifying scene.
Watching the chaos unfold, Xu Ze shook his head with a faint smile. He nodded at Luo Zi and the other three before turning to leave.
No one tried to stop him now. The bailiffs, under the judge’s orders, were busy helping the Zhang family restrain the three who had suddenly lost their minds.
“He’s out! Xu Ze’s out!” The crowd still gathered outside the courthouse erupted in excitement as the familiar figures emerged. A fresh wave of camera flashes lit up the scene.
Xu Ze stepped out slowly, pausing on the courthouse steps to gaze at the brilliant sunlight on the horizon. He exhaled softly—his efforts these past few days hadn’t been in vain. He’d kept his promise. If Tao Xiao’s spirit could see this, she could rest in peace now…
The thought brought him profound relief. Glancing at the eager, hopeful faces of his classmates nearby, he allowed a faint smile to touch his pale lips—only to suddenly feel an overwhelming dizziness crash over him.
A system alert blared in his mind: “Warning: Excessive mental energy expenditure detected. To prevent brain damage, host consciousness will be suspended. Executing now.”
Before Xu Ze could react, his bloodshot eyes fluttered shut. His body went limp, and he crumpled to the ground, drawing gasps and cries from the crowd below.
Luo Zi and the others rushed forward in panic, catching him. The stark contrast between Xu Ze’s ghostly pallor and the vivid blood streaking his cheeks sent a jolt of fear through them. After a quick, frantic discussion, they lifted him and hurried down the steps.
The students from Xing University, who had just seen Xu Ze standing tall with his piercing red eyes and blood-streaked face—only to collapse moments later—were now surging forward in agitation, pressing against the police barricades.
Thankfully, Luo Zi and the others carried Xu Ze down quickly, easing the tension among the officers.
“What happened to Xu Ze?!” As the group emerged past the barricades, the crowd swarmed around them, staring in alarm at Xu Ze’s lifeless form and the twin trails of blood.
A dozen reporters fought their way to the front, cameras raised, snapping photos wildly while shouting questions: “What happened inside? What was the verdict?!”
Luo Zi, frantic, yelled for the crowd to make way. The students, though desperate for answers, obeyed, parting to let them through.
Just then, a long black Mercedes pulled up. Tang Zhi leaped out, his face tense. Spotting Xu Ze in their arms, he demanded, “What’s wrong with him?”
Luo Zi recognized Tang Zhi as someone close to Xu Ze and quickly answered, “We don’t know—he just passed out!”
Tang Zhi checked Xu Ze’s pulse, relieved to find it steady despite his ghastly appearance. “Get him in the car!” he ordered.
As the four carefully loaded Xu Ze into the Mercedes, a reporter shouted after them, unwilling to let go: “What happened in there?!”
Luo Zi paused, his eyes blazing with fervor. He turned back to the anxious crowd, raised a fist, and roared:
“We won!”
“Won? Won? WON?!” After a stunned second, the crowd exploded into cheers. Female students hugged each other, weeping with joy, while the men pumped their fists in the air, embracing and shouting in triumph.
Only a few reporters stood frozen in disbelief. “They won? How? There’s no way the Tao family could’ve won… That’s impossible…”
They scrambled back to the courthouse entrance, craning their necks for any sign of someone who could confirm what had really happened.
The jubilant crowd, though still worried about Xu Ze, now surged toward the courthouse doors. They needed to know—what exactly had happened?
Xu Ze had walked in unharmed, yet emerged in such a state. What had he done inside? Everyone waited in tense silence for the answer.
Soon, Tao Xiao’s parents and relatives exited, their faces a mix of lingering sorrow but also unmistakable relief and satisfaction. The crowd’s hearts steadied—they really had won.
Reporters mobbed Tao’s father, thrusting microphones at him. “Did you win? What was the verdict?”
But Tao’s father ignored them, scanning the crowd urgently before spotting a few of his daughter’s classmates. “Where’s Xu Ze? Did he leave?”
Tong Tong quickly answered, “He fainted—they took him to the hospital.” Then, unable to hold back, she asked, “Uncle, what happened? What about those monsters?”
The crowd fell silent, waiting.
Hearing Xu Ze had been hospitalized, Tao’s father grew even more anxious. But under their expectant stares, he simply grinned and said, “We lost the case… but we got justice.” Then he hurried off with his family.
“Lost… but got justice?” The crowd was baffled. What did that mean?
Their confusion only deepened as they waited for the Zhang family to emerge.
They didn’t have to wait long. Ambulances soon arrived, rushing inside with stretchers. Minutes later, Zhang Juntao and the other two were carried out—strapped down, thrashing and screaming like madmen—before being loaded into the ambulances under the nervous guard of bailiffs and Zhang family members.
“What the hell just happened?!” The crowd buzzed with excitement, but also utter bewilderment.
They turned next to the reporters who had been inside the courtroom.
Meanwhile, in Xu Ze’s virtual space, an urgent alarm blared. Xiao Dao stared at the energy reserves, now completely depleted, and sighed. “Well, well… You brought this on yourself. Now I’ve got to go into hibernation too.”
With that, his figure flickered and vanished—and the virtual space collapsed into darkness.
