Special Agent’s Rebirth: The Almighty Goddess of Quick Transmigration - Chapter 267
“Looking to die?” One of Wei Qi’s team members coughed up a mouthful of blood, glaring at Ye Shaohua and the others as if they were already dead. They had always believed Su Ran hadn’t been properly tempered in the apocalypse, which was why he was so weak.
At the very least, he should have dodged, right?
Wei Qi couldn’t be bothered to deal with these people who seemed determined to get themselves killed.
Su Ran and the others were too busy fighting over the meat stew to pay attention to the fireball.
Ye Shaohua glanced at the incoming fireball, then casually flicked her wrist. A violent whirlwind wrapped around the flames, hurling the highly charged fireball straight back the way it came!
“How is that possible?!” The group that had retreated to the hillside watched in stunned silence as the rebounding fireball smashed into the third-tier zombie, sending it crashing into a pit.
The speed of that wind was terrifying.
There were plenty of wind-type ability users present, but even if they were fifty times stronger, none of them could have produced a whirlwind of that magnitude.
Seeing the third-tier zombie lying in the pit, Weiwei clapped her hands and walked over. She rummaged through the zombie’s body, pulling out a few first-tier crystal cores before patting its head. “Little Fire, promise me you won’t sneak up on Miss Ye again, okay?”
Little Fire immediately scrambled out of the pit and bolted.
The baby-faced member of the group, finally done eating, called after it, “Hey, wait! You still haven’t told me where your water-type friend is—”
Little Fire ran even faster.
The rest of Ye Shaohua’s team sighed in disappointment. “Another fire-type. Why couldn’t it have been a third-tier water zombie?”
Meanwhile, Wei Qi, her subordinates, and the thousand-odd civilians traveling with the military were still frozen in shock a full minute later.
“Holy… shit. Did I just see that third-tier zombie… run away?” someone muttered, dazed.
Sui Yun, who had rushed back after receiving the alert, witnessed the final moments of the scene.
He had been ready to intervene, but the sight of Ye Shaohua’s whirlwind left him equally stunned.
“Boss, that third-tier zombie actually fled from them?” The person beside Sui Yun was trembling.
To casually repel a third-tier zombie—even killing one would have been effortless for her. Just what level had she reached?
Third-tier? Or the even more terrifying fourth-tier?!
Last time, they had learned from Sui Yun that R City had been overrun by a third-tier zombie leading a horde, resulting in the complete annihilation of the entire city. At present, no human was capable of killing a third-tier zombie, which meant there were no third-tier powerhouses yet—only a handful of second-tier ones at most.
Most people would flee at the sight of a third-tier zombie.
This was the first time anyone had seen a third-tier zombie so terrified of humans!
Countless people wanted to approach Ye Shaohua’s group, but no one dared.
Wei Qi simply stared in Ye Shaohua’s direction, unable to snap out of her daze.
“If I had to guess, you’re at least fourth-tier, aren’t you?” Sui Yun approached their team once the danger had passed, keeping his voice low.
Ye Shaohua let out a faint hmph but didn’t answer.
Su Ran and the others, however, were stunned.
They had speculated about Ye Shaohua’s strength before, but to think she really was fourth-tier…
Holy shit… That’s genuinely terrifying.
“Here’s what you wanted,” Sui Yun said, already accustomed to her attitude. He tossed her a small component. “I snatched it from a zombie.”
Wait…
Sui Yun paused. Why did it feel so natural to say he was used to her acting like this?
He studied Ye Shaohua for a moment before pressing his lips together.
No one else noticed his odd reaction—except Su Ran, who frowned at Sui Yun while idly poking the campfire.
“Boss,” Wei Qi finally mustered the courage to approach after lingering nearby for a while. Seeing that Sui Yun showed no intention of leaving Ye Shaohua’s side, she hesitantly spoke up. “We just discovered a massive horde of zombies heading toward the capital’s base. We accidentally ran into that fire-type third-tier zombie, which is why things got so out of hand.”
“A zombie tide?” Sui Yun’s fingers, which had been prodding the fire, stilled.
Wei Qi nodded. “Exactly. We need to find a way to warn the capital.”
“Captain Wei, don’t you have a satellite phone?” someone nearby whispered. “Call them. If that horde reaches the capital, millions of people will be in danger.”
Everyone knew Wei Qi had a phone.
“Our satellite signal is being jammed. It’s unusable right now,” Wei Qi said bitterly. Otherwise, she would have contacted Sui Yun the moment they encountered the third-tier zombie.
Su Ran turned to Sui Yun, his expression serious. “Boss, is it really that bad?”
The flickering firelight cast shadows across Sui Yun’s profile. “It’s pretty serious.”
“So it’s just your phones that are malfunctioning? The capital’s communication lines are still intact?” Su Ran pressed.
“What’s the point of asking? It’s not like you understand how satellite phones work,” Wei Qi sneered.
But under Ye Shaohua’s cold gaze, she quickly shut up.
Sui Yun shot Wei Qi a glance, his eyes icy for a brief moment before he turned back to Su Ran. “Yes. The capital uses a different satellite.”
“Got it,” Su Ran said, ignoring Wei Qi entirely. He turned to Qi Feng. “Qi Feng, hand over your phone so the boss can warn the capital. This is urgent.”
Qi Feng, chewing on a packaged chicken leg, casually reached for his phone—then paused mid-motion as if remembering something.
With a smirk, he said, “Ah, sorry, I’m on night watch tonight. Weiwei, why don’t you lend yours instead?”
