I Swapped Bodies With a Female Celebrity - Chapter 1
In a Parallel World: Backstage at “I Am a Singer”
Qin Lang stared blankly at his reflection in the mirror, utterly bewildered.
Wasn’t I just debating philosophy with the Duke of Zhou in a university classroom? How did I wake up here?
Before him lay an array of cosmetics, while behind hung racks of dazzling women’s clothing, each outfit more glamorous than the last. The warm orange lighting overhead bathed the room in a soft glow.
Judging by the surroundings, he was clearly in a dressing room.
And the reflection? A breathtaking beauty who could captivate anyone at first glance.
“Is this… me? I’m… gorgeous?” Qin Lang murmured, unable to tear his eyes away.
He’d never seen a woman so stunning—sculpted figure, snow-white skin, delicate features like a mythical elf, cascading hair adding to her allure.
“How can anyone be this beautiful?”
But beyond the shock of his new appearance, a realization struck:
He’d not only time-traveled—he’d become a peerless beauty.
“Time-travel is one thing, but turning into a woman? That’s a problem!” Resentment bubbled up, but one more glance at the mirror softened his frustration.
So pretty…
Another look.
Okay, maybe being a stunning woman isn’t so bad…
Just then, a knock rattled the door.
“Who’s there?” Qin Lang blurted.
“Qin Yunxuan, you’re on stage soon! Get ready!” The voice vanished as quickly as it came.
Qin Yunxuan? That’s me now?
Panic surged—he had no memories of this woman’s life. This breaks all time-travel rules! Without her memories, I’ll be exposed!
His eyes landed on a pink smartphone atop the vanity. At least I have a name and a phone. That’s a start.
“What brand is this? Never seen it before…”
The device was lightning-fast, outperforming any smartphone he’d used. Typing “Qin Yunxuan” into the search bar, his own face flashed on-screen alongside a bio:
Qin Yunxuan – Rising star under Starlight Entertainment, A-list idol…
The headlines below were less flattering:
“Qin Yunxuan: The industry’s prettiest vase—zero talent!”
“Music critic Ding Dasheng roasts: ‘She’s got looks, but singing? Not everyone with a mouth can sing!’”
Qin Lang’s jaw dropped. Another epiphany:
This wasn’t just time-travel—he was in a parallel universe. Not Earth.
And his new identity? A tone-deaf idol slated to perform live on I Am a Singer.
As the horror sank in, the host’s voice boomed:
“Next up: The youth’s favorite—Qin Yunxuan!”
Qin Lang’s stomach lurched. Showtime already? I don’t know any songs here! Wait—
A flood of Earth’s classic hits surged through his mind.
This world has no Beatles, no Queen… I’ve got this!
Gritting his teeth, he inhaled deeply.
“Fortune favors the bold. Let’s do this.”
———
The stage lights blazed over a roaring crowd.
“Can’t wait for Qin Yunxuan’s trainwreck performance!”
“She’s a joke—why’s she even here?”
A luminous figure stepped into the spotlight—
THUD.
She face-planted spectacularly.
“Gah! My waist!” Qin Lang groaned.
Why do women wear heels? Who invented these torture devices?!
(Unbeknownst to this slacker, heels were originally designed for men.)
The audience howled:
“Hah! Is this a comedy skit?”
“Quit singing—join Comedians instead!”
Online trolls piled on:
“Pathetic.”
“Starlight Entertainment’s scraping the barrel!”
Wincing, Qin Lang struggled up. The fall had jammed a waist monitor into his ribs—hence the agony.
The director rushed over. “Ms. Qin, are you okay?!”
“I’m fine,” he lied.
Relieved, the director turned—until a heckler screeched:
“Qin Yunxuan, you disgrace! Get off the stage!”
Rage ignited in Qin Lang’s chest.
“Remove that audience member!” the director ordered.
“Wait.” Qin Lang raised a hand. “I have a request.”
“What?”
“Bring me a guitar. I’ll perform as planned.”
His original plan—to casually sing an Earth classic—was scrapped.
Now? I’ll teach this world what real music sounds like.
