Honkai: Oh No, I’ve Become the Herrscher of Corruption?! - Chapter 7
Earlier – Outside Babylon Tower
Siegfried and his two companions were still locked in battle, but the endless tide of Honkai beasts was wearing them down.
“Huff… These things just keep coming! Hey, Salome, bet I can kill more than you!” Shub-Niggurath flashed her shark-like grin between ragged breaths.
Salome shot her an exasperated look. “Idiot. Our mission is to eliminate every last one. This isn’t a game.”
Just as Shub was about to retort, the air itself seemed to tremble. Siegfried instantly shoved both women behind him.
Then—
A figure descended from the heavens.
With a mere fraction of the Star of Eden’s power, Welt Yang erased over a hundred Honkai beasts in an instant. The trio below gaped at the devastation.
When Welt introduced himself, their blood ran cold. The antagonism between Schicksal and Anti-Entropy was no secret—and given the First Herrscher’s display of power, they knew they stood no chance in their current state.
Yet, to their astonishment, Welt stopped a few meters away… and extended a hand in truce.
Present – Schicksal Headquarters, Floating Archipelago
Otto Apocalypse gazed wistfully at the holographic data space before him, where a younger version of himself chased after Kallen in happier times. The memory left a bittersweet ache in his chest.
“Lord Overseer, Siegfried reports that Welt Yang, the First Herrscher and leader of Anti-Entropy, has appeared near Babylon Tower.”
The name Welt sent a phantom pain radiating from Otto’s jaw—a souvenir from the “Friendship Fist” Joachim had gifted him back in 1955.
“What’s the combat status?” Otto’s voice turned glacial as he pressed a hand to his face. “Tell Siegfried to hold Babylon Tower at all costs.”
“Per Siegfried’s report, no hostilities have occurred. Anti-Entropy claims they’re assisting with the investigation. Given the urgency, Siegfried has agreed to temporary cooperation and granted them access.”
“They’re already inside? That maverick—!” Otto’s outrage died as a sudden realization struck him. His lips curled into a smirk.
“Inform Siegfried his judgment was correct. Clashing with the First Herrscher would be mutually destructive. We’ll… graciously accept Anti-Entropy’s assistance.”
Elsewhere in Headquarters
Browning Jessica, B-rank Valkyrie, sighed as she patrolled the sterile corridors.
She’d joined Schicksal dreaming of frontline glory after being saved from a Honkai beast attack. Though her exceptional Honkai resistance had earned her a Valkyrie title, fate had other plans—stuck on guard duty at the world’s safest stronghold, far from any real combat.
“Ugh. Daydreaming won’t change anything.” She slapped her cheeks and resumed her rounds.
Then—a flicker of light from a high-security lab.
Jessica’s pulse spiked. That room housed something critical.
She sprinted inside to find two glass cases intact, each cradling a violet gemstone. Relief washed over her.
“Of course they’re fine.” She chuckled at her own paranoia. These “ordinary-looking” containers could supposedly withstand nuclear strikes—even if the entire archipelago fell, their contents would remain untouched.
According to briefings, these gems could unleash Herrscher-level energy. Jessica wasn’t stupid—she knew exactly what that meant.
“A Herrscher’s power surpasses even Emperor-class Honkai beasts,” her instructor’s voice echoed in her memory. “Not even an S-rank Valkyrie is guaranteed victory.”
Every time she saw these stones, the same thought surfaced: If Lady Cecilia might lose to one… what kind of monsters are we dealing with?
Suddenly, the lab door slammed shut. Lights overhead began strobing erratically.
Training kicked in—Jessica immediately reached for comms.
No response. Screens remained dead. Radios hissed static.
Then—
Slender, porcelain hands emerged from a monitor.
They gripped the edges of the screen and pulled, as a blue-haired girl climbed out like some digital specter.
“Hi there~ Feeling okay?”
Enoxia —still mimicking Elysia’s corrupted form—waved cheerfully at the Valkyrie now slumped against the wall.
Where Elysia’s smile might have charmed, Enoxia’s radiated only eerie wrongness in this context.
“T-This is Schicksal HQ! You—!” Trembling, Jessica drew her sidearm.
“I know. That’s why I’m here.” Enoxia strolled toward the gem cases, casually lifting the containment dome off the Gem of Conquest. Schicksal’s vaunted “A-rank-proof” security didn’t so much as beep.
“Drop that and surrender! Or I’ll shoot!” Jessica’s bluff would’ve been more convincing if her voice didn’t crack.
“Admirable professionalism.” Enoxia tilted her head. “Do you know what I am?”
Her eyes scanned the lab’s other high-tech equipment—all incomprehensible to her. Best not to push her luck.
“Even if you’re a Herrscher… I won’t back down!” Jessica’s grip on the pistol tightened.
“Oho~ Guessed it in one!” Enoxia clapped. “Then again, only a Herrscher could bypass Schicksal’s defenses so easily.”
Jessica’s blood turned to ice. Only one thought remained:
Wait… I have to fight a Herrscher? Seriously?!
Enoxia didn’t give her time to process. A single precise strike sent the Valkyrie crumpling into unconsciousness.
“Guarding something this important with just a B-rank? What, did they think she was Finality Kiana?” Dragging Jessica aside, Enoxia tucked the Gem of Conquest under her arm and strolled out of Schicksal’s most secure facility like she owned the place.
