Honkai: Oh No, I’ve Become the Herrscher of Corruption?! - Chapter 68
Just like in the Sakura-Samsara, the moment Kevin made up his mind to initiate the Stigma Project, Enoxia found herself back in Siberia.
“What the hell is this fox up to? That ridiculously long immersive video just now drained almost all the Honkai energy. One more round, and it’ll be completely depleted.”
Confused, Enoxia had no choice but to keep watching the script it had written. After all, if it wanted to stall her, she would be the one to come out on top.
“Eden’s Star, Zeroeth Power—Simulated Black Hole!”
To Enoxia’s surprise, this time, Old Yang not only successfully activated the Simulated Black Hole, swallowing Sirin whole, but also avoided a sneak attack from a certain blond-haired guy, dragging him into the abyss as well.
“Hmph… The mighty Herrscher of the Void, reduced to such a pitiful state. Your power… shall be mine now.”
With a casual wave of his hand, Welt Yang redirected the mecha troops—originally firing at the Honkai beasts—to instead rain bullets upon the Valkyrie squad.
Outnumbered and overwhelmed, the Valkyries of the Siberian branch could only retreat, fighting desperately until they were all buried beneath Siberia’s frozen wasteland.
“Oh… So this is the core of the Herrscher of the Void… Heh.”
Welt Yang seized the core and refined it in an instant.
Within half an hour, chaos engulfed Schicksal Headquarters. Caught completely off guard by the sudden appearance of the First Herrscher, the organization was thrown into disarray.
Then, a battalion of mechas materialized on the deck, unleashing a storm of bullets and energy beams upon the floating island’s inhabitants. Valkyries and researchers alike fell into pools of blood.
*”Heh heh heh… Run. Run. Just like I did in 1955. The blood debt Schicksal owes to Anti-Entropy from over forty years ago… Today, it will be repaid in blood!”*
He raised his hand slightly, subjecting the fleeing crowd to gravity dozens of times stronger. In an instant, moving targets became stationary ones, and the floating island was painted crimson.
“First Herrscher, I know Schicksal has wronged Anti-Entropy in the past. But if Schicksal falls, how will humanity fight the Honkai?”
“Simple. I’ll just become the Honkai’s sovereign!”
With that, he no longer suppressed his aura—revealing his dual-core Herrscher power.
“He… He’s already fused with the Void Core?!”
The survivors cowered in corners, staring at Welt in the sky like wounded animals.
Clad in gray, his brown hair fluttering in the wind, Welt Yang dominated the battlefield, his presence overwhelming. Reciting a poem, he declared:
“In youth, I learned the world’s harsh ways,
Yet wielded ‘The World’ to carve my days.
Through bitter winds and fate’s cruel tide,
Alone I walked, my will my guide.
In shadows forged, my blade refined,
With every thought, my path defined.
Now at Schicksal’s gates, I stand,
To break all bounds—I’ll transcend!”
Just as despair took hold, a streak of red light pierced the horizon, racing toward Schicksal Headquarters.
Welt Yang smirked, raising Eden’s Apple and firing dozens of gravity beams at the approaching figure.
Yet, to everyone’s shock, the newcomer merely lifted a hand and deflected every single one.
“Is that… a male Valkyrie? Since when did Schicksal have those?”
“Don’t be ridiculous! That’s Cheng Lixue’s mentor! We’re saved!”
The Valkyrie with the broadest heart and purest spirit in all of Schicksal—Fu Hua in her Phoenix form—stood before Welt Yang.
“Welt… Why are you doing this?”
“Because it is my mission. The man named Welt Joyce entrusted it to me in 1955, with the utmost solemnity.”
“1955…”
“The year Anti-Entropy fell.”
Welt Yang’s expression turned wistful.
“Welt Joyce, Lieserl Albert Einstein, Frederica Nikola Tesla, Emma Planck, Erwin Schrödinger, Nancy Edison… I remember every single one of their names. Because remembering is the only thing I can do for them.”
“They were killed one by one by Schicksal’s Valkyries before my eyes, while I could do nothing but run away like a coward. Like a… frightened, helpless beast.”
After a brief pause, Fu Hua spoke firmly. “Joyce would never have given you such a mission. You’re only repeating the tragedy of Anti-Entropy’s destruction.”
Welt hesitated before replying:
“You’re right. They were all kind and strong. Even after Schicksal took everything from them, they chose to let go of hatred and keep fighting for their ideals… And that’s why they paid the price.”
As Welt Yang slowly raised his hand, Fu Hua clenched her fists, and the survivors held their breath.
But instead of activating Eden’s Apple, he removed his glasses.
“Power, purpose, ideals—when I inherited the name ‘Welt,’ I also inherited everything that man stood for. Yet… beneath this name, there’s nothing that truly belongs to me. I’ve just been playing the role of a long-dead shadow. But… why should I play the shadow of a failure?”
His movements grew erratic, his voice more fervent.
“That’s right! I was the one who killed the Herrscher of the Void! I was the one who saved the world! I accomplished what that man couldn’t! I’ve surpassed him!”
Schicksal’s still-functioning surveillance captured the moment:
Welt · Transcendence (Part 1)
Welt · Transcendence (Part 2)
Welt · Transcendence (Part 3)
“You’ve lost your mind…”
“No. I’m not insane. I’ve conquered the world… This is my own power, my own ideals, my own destiny. This… is the real me!”
Eden’s Apple glowed once more as space itself twisted and collapsed around them.
With a sigh, Fu Hua summoned Fenghuang Down.
“Fenghuang Down, First Power—Taixu Sword Strike!”
Before the floating island could be consumed, a blazing crimson sword—unaffected by the black hole—struck Welt Yang directly in the head.
A wave of weakness overtook him, and he plummeted from the sky. Desperately, he tried to summon his Herrscher powers, only to realize—his connection to the Imaginary Space had been severed.
As Welt Yang lay motionless, Fu Hua—bearing the side effects of burning her memories—walked to his side.
“You’ve lost.”
Gasping for breath, Welt Yang smiled.
“Heh heh heh… I lost. But Schicksal didn’t win either.”
At that very moment, silver bullets rained down upon Schicksal’s branches across Europe, Oceania, and beyond. The organization’s global operations ground to a halt.
In this timeline, Anti-Entropy prioritized vengeance over fighting the Honkai. Even after their leader’s death, the remnants waged total war against Schicksal. Before a new Herrscher could emerge, humanity had already torn itself apart.
“I was just playing the shadow of someone else… I was just playing the shadow of someone else…”
The video ended, freezing on the final frame. But those words echoed endlessly in Enoxia’s mind—along with a memory that had never existed before.
January 31, 2000. A corpse lay in the Siberian snow. Black mist seeped from its body, coalescing into a giant red eye in the sky.
“This… This memory is…” Fear, unease, and dread surged through Enoxia as fragmented recollections pieced themselves together.
Then, a ghostly voice whispered directly into her mind—the voice of Higokumaru.
“After all this effort, I’ve finally caught you off guard… You deleted this memory yourself to keep lying to yourself. And now… I’ve restored it.”
“Do you know why you hate the name ‘Wang Luowei’? Is it just because it’s too plain, too rustic, too mismatched for your non-Chinese face? No… That’s not the real reason.”
“Say it. Admit the truth you least want to face. That boy from another world, Wang Luowei… Before the Valkyries ever found him…”
“He was already dead.”
“And the one who killed him… was you, Enoxia.”
“Or should I call you… the Herrscher of Corruption’s consciousness?”
