Honkai: Oh No, I’ve Become the Herrscher of Corruption?! - Chapter 131
May 2012, Senba Academy.
The school bell rang, but Enoxia paid no attention, walking straight out of the classroom. Just as she reached the corner of the building, she spotted a white figure vaulting over the school wall. There was no need to guess—it had to be Kiana.
Skipping class by jumping the wall was clearly second nature to Kiana. After landing smoothly, she glanced around, pondering where to go for fun today, when she heard a noise behind her. Enoxia landed lightly on the ground.
“Hey, do you know who I am?”
Seeing the girl in front of her wearing the same Senba Academy uniform and acting so familiar, Kiana blinked in surprise before rubbing her chin thoughtfully.
“Blue hair, orange-red eyes… You’re… Eno… Enoxia?”
“Even though we’ve barely met, you remember my name so well. Kiana’s memory is impressive—good job!”
Kiana scratched her head.
“But… why are you also…?”
Enoxia waved her hand with a smile.
“Ah, that’s where you’re mistaken. Grades have nothing to do with following school rules. You can ask Sirin—from the start of the semester until now, I’ve never once done my homework because it doesn’t fit my habits. In my book, there are four types of homework I don’t do.”
Kiana, now intrigued, quickly asked,
“Which four?”
“First, I don’t do what I already know. If I’ve already mastered it, why bother?”
“Second, I don’t do what I don’t understand. If I can’t figure it out, there’s no point forcing myself.”
“Third, I don’t do assignments that’ll be collected. The purpose of homework is to improve your knowledge, not to please the teacher, so I won’t do it.”
“Fourth, I don’t do assignments that won’t be collected. If I work hard on something and the teacher can’t even be bothered to look at it, that’s a huge disrespect to my effort—so of course I won’t do it!”
Enoxia spoke with absolute confidence. It took Kiana a moment to process before she realized,
“Wait a second… that just means you don’t do any homework at all!”
Enoxia blinked innocently.
“Exactly. But whether it’s attending class or doing homework, neither has much to do with your grades. What’s important is finding a method that works for you and actually learning…”
Kiana’s face immediately fell into a pout.
“Relax, I didn’t jump the wall to lecture you—I’m here to skip class with you. So, where are we going?”
Growl—
Without hesitation, the two headed straight to a high-end Western restaurant nearby.
Kiana picked up the menu and instinctively frowned, hesitating for a long time without making a choice. Seeing this, Enoxia called the waiter and began reciting her order without missing a beat:
“One 9-inch Hawaiian fruit pizza, one 9-inch cheese and bacon pizza, one sirloin steak, medium-well, two servings of escargots, one tomato spaghetti, two mango milkshakes…”
“That will be 8,200 yen, miss.”
Enoxia casually handed over a credit card. The waiter swiped it, and his expression instantly shifted to one of utmost respect as he returned it to her.
“Is that enough? Should I order more?”
Kiana was clearly stunned by the long list of dishes. It wasn’t until Enoxia waved her hand in front of her face that she snapped out of it.
“Sorry for making you spend so much…”
Enoxia shrugged nonchalantly.
“8,200 yen? Pocket change. If you really feel bad, next time we skip class, you can treat me at any restaurant you pick.”
Kiana glanced around before leaning in and whispering,
“Just how much money is on that card?”
Enoxia raised an eyebrow playfully.
“What, giving up on hard work already? If it’s you, Kiana… I wouldn’t mind taking care of you~”
Kiana’s face fell again, her voice growing smaller.
“I… was just asking…”
Enoxia thought for a moment.
“About 3 million dollars… Oh, sorry, force of habit. Converted to local currency… just over 400 million yen. What’s with that look? Actually tempted?”
“I said I was just asking!”
Kiana picked up her fork and knife and began eating her steak with zero elegance. Enoxia, meanwhile, speared a snail and chewed thoughtfully.
After stuffing themselves, the two left the restaurant. They hadn’t gone far before Kiana suddenly grabbed Enoxia’s hand and sprinted forward, not stopping until they’d dashed hundreds of meters and ducked into an alley.
“We should be safe here. Enoxia, we were being followed earlier—probably because of what you said back there.”
“Oh? Then I’ll have to rely on Kiana to protect me~”
Kiana gave her a deadpan look.
“You jumped the wall and skipped class with me. If there’s real danger, you wouldn’t need my protection anyway.”
Enoxia stuck out her tongue.
“But what if I really were just a weak, defenseless girl? Would you protect me then?”
Without hesitation, Kiana nodded firmly.
“Because I treated you to a meal?”
Kiana shook her head.
“My dad told me that protecting others is the duty of the Kaslana family.”
At the mention of Siegfried, a shadow of melancholy flickered in Kiana’s eyes. Despite all clues pointing to Senba Academy, after over a month of investigating, she’d found nothing.
“Did something happen?”
Enoxia asked knowingly.
After a brief hesitation, Kiana spun a flimsy, hole-riddled story. Though the tale was fabricated, Enoxia could tell the emotions Kiana was venting were genuine.
“Kiana, I believe your father must have had a compelling reason for not wanting you to find him. But I’m sure your family will be reunited someday.”
Kiana wiped her eyes, feeling as if a weight had been lifted from her chest. A sense of relief washed over her, and she stood up, turning back toward Senba Academy.
“Not sticking around a bit longer?”
After a moment’s thought, Kiana smiled and shook her head.
“No. I only left because I was feeling down. After saying what I needed to say to you, I feel a lot better somehow. Thanks, Eno.”
“Next time we skip class together, it’s my treat. Don’t let me forget, okay?”
Kiana climbed back over the wall into the school, just in time for the last class of the afternoon. Sirin, who’d been dozing off, was shocked to see Kiana—who never paid attention in class—actually taking notes!
Meanwhile, Enoxia continued wandering around, deliberately passing by the restaurant again before slipping into a deserted alley—setting a trap.
Sure enough, a man in his early thirties immediately followed her. He was the one Kiana had noticed earlier, the one who’d set his sights on Enoxia after witnessing her wealth.
His intentions were exactly as Kiana had guessed—a spur-of-the-moment crime of opportunity.
The next day, police discovered a corpse in horrifying condition. The autopsy concluded the cause of death was a sudden illness.
Only those from Schicksal and Anti-Entropy knew the truth:
The real cause was excessive Honkai energy.
